Woodrow Wilson

I have just come from visiting the Woodrow Wilson Museum/library/birthplace. It's quite a good museum, actually. The birthplace is still furnished as it was then--complete with a "very modern stove" and with the gorgeous handpainted china of a Staunton family (not the Wilson's, but a family that lived nearby during the same time).

Woodrow Wilson is, according to my tour guide, our most educated president to date--he actually earned his doctorate.

Woodrow Wilson's father was a Presbyterian minister who served here in Staunton for a few years before being called to Augusta, GA. (among other places)

Woodrow Wilson's mother was the daughter of a Scottish Presbyterian minister.

How did he escape?

I bought a keychain, of course.
