faith

"Faith is believing that one of two things will happen: That there will be something solid for you to stand on--or that you will be taught to fly."

indeed.
He couldn't, or wouldn't, or didn't want to, and I did (apparently I always do).
He is the thinker, the rationalist, of us. I'm the impulsive one, doing things when they feel right rather than thinking everything through first.
and that led to a geographical distance problem and a communication problem.
Apparently insurmountable.
And now there is no us.
And I am sad.

But there will either be something solid to stand on, or I'll be taught to fly. I'm waiting to find out which.

In the meantime, I've accomplished approximately 4 and 15/56ths of the items on yesterday's list. (half each of 1, 3, and 5, 1/7 of 23, 1/8 of 21, and all of 9, 17, and 18.) It could be worse. Still 6 more days to go. No problem. :-)

Gotta go work on 1 and 6!

  3. Oh, I'm so sorry. It's awkward being a "single but seeing someone" pastor. But there's absolutley no protocol for being a recently broken up pastor. Hang in there.

  4. I'm sad too. Be good to you...wrap yourself in a warm snuggly blanket, sip a mug of hot tea (or coffee!), and escape with a chapter of a good book before tackling more of your list. It'll help! Enjoy dreaming of the time away!

  5. Teri - my heart hurts for you - changes in relationships affect more people than the two primary ones and that is part of the ache. The offer to stay at my house next week is still open - for the whole time if needs be.
