At 9 this morning my dad called to tell me they are in the Sheraton...in Cairo. a sandstorm/rainstorm last night cancelled the flights out of cairo. so they'll go to Milan this afternoon and instead of a five-hour layover they'll be taken to another alitalia-funded hotel room for a 16 hour layover...and then on to the rest of their original itinerary, 24 hours late. good times.
egypt...it's always something.
